Hoarding: Not an Ordinary Disorder


Hoarding is nothing new in the American culture. As a matter of fact, it is considered an emerging issue that targets the aging population.

Hoarding disorder is different from merely collecting stuff and living in clutter. It is already considered a disorder when the behavior causes distress to the individual. If the problem interferes not only with the emotional and physical well-being of the person but also with his daily activities then the act of hoarding stuff is considered a disorder.
