Hoarding Issue to Get Worse as Baby Boomers Age

According to statistics, about 15 million people in the country struggle with hoarding and unfortunately this number is likely to increase as baby boomers age. While a person don’t become a hoarder overnight, we see hoarding cases increase significantly from 2.5 million in 2006.

Founder of Clutter Cleaner and author of “The Secret Lives of Hoarders” Matt Paxton said that such condition involves triggers which may include grief, trauma and tragedy. Good thing today hoarding is recognized as a protected disability. Most health plans include therapy for those individuals who are suffering from hoarding disorder.
