Animal Hoarding

According to experts, animal hoarding is a complex phenomenon. It has been recognized only recently by the American Psychological Association and is characterized by the accumulation of a large number of animals and its failure to provide minimal standards of sanitation, nutrition and veterinary care.

Truth is, animal hoarding is considered as a mental illness. And just like any other person suffering from mental condition, animal hoarders also deserve empathy. In many cases of hoarding, effective counseling is necessary but extremely challenging to provide.
