Tool Kits for Hoarding Interventions

Unfortunately, forced clean-outs of hoarder houses don’t work as an intervention according to a research. As a matter of fact, such only make the hoarding problem worse and more difficult to deal with in the future.

Stephanie Yamin, a professor of psychology at St. Paul University, developed a tool kit through her pilot project run by Montfort Renaissance and Options Bytown that will help individuals deal with hoarders. The tool kit can make help hoarders’ environment a better place to live in with less risk around fire.
