The Science of Coping with Hoarding

When trying to understand what hoarding really is, one thing people should know is that it is far deeper than the ones you see in reality TV shows.

According to new science, hoarding is based in a person’s genetic makeup and could run in families. And while such disorder has roots in the way a hoarder’s brain is wired, a cognitive behavior therapy can actually help improve a hoarder’s condition. It was found out in a one Boston University study that such short-term solution can actually help hoarders make better decisions in terms of acquiring stuff.
