Housing First in Treating Hoarding Disorder

The movement to house hoarders has become a struggle for many communities. More often than not, caseworkers and housing specialists are not only overburdened but are also not involved in such situations. Good thing in Kansas City area, advocates and agencies are determined to provide housing support that will serve as the best hope for treatment for those individuals suffering from hoarding disorder.

While housing first isn’t at all easy, executive director of Kim Wilson Housing Inc. said that support to landlords are provided on both sides of the state line. Agencies consider housing as an intervention and outcome although there are not really enough options right now.
