Apart from the obvious health risks that go along with hoarding, experts say that this disorder is indeed a very serious mental problem.

Therapist Mark Chidley said, “Typically hoarders go right back and refill the house within a year, sometimes more than it was before.”

According to experts, some of the common signs of hoarding disorder include anxiety, depression and obsessive compulsiveness. Oftentimes, this mental problem develops out of a traumatic life experience.
