Are ‘Collectors’ Hoarders as Well?

Should collectors of what most people would say ‘valuable items’ be diagnosed with Hoarding Disorder as well?

Presently, we consider hoarders as those who have an impulse to accumulate an irrational amount of materials that others might consider useless. As a matter of fact, in the latest revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), hoarding has been declared in itself a disorder and is no longer simply a symptom of OCD. Many ‘collectors’ are known to exhibit similar symptoms of the newly proclaimed disorder, which may lead one to¬†wonder why they are not tagged as hoarders just like the rest.
