A hundred and twenty-two dogs were removed from the home of a man identified as Richard Pilicer in his Colorado home. All of them are Havanese or mix-breed Havanese. They were living in crammed quarters and unsanitary conditions.
When the Adams County Sheriff’s Office discovered the animal hoarding case, the Dumb Friends League, Adams County Animal Control, and the Adams County Animal Shelter were all called to assist in removing all the 122 dogs.
According to Chris Gallegos, a spokesman of Dumb Friends League, it’s among the larger hoarding cases they’ve seen. Though the dogs were not malnourished, they were covered in dirt and they had matted fur, the veterinarians said.
