Home Construction in Bakersfield Continue to RiseWith the shortage of existing homes and low mortgage rates, developers are struggling to meet all the demands as new home construction in Bakersfield is continuing to grow.

“In a recent conversation I had with one builder, he had indicated that there was about 80 percent of the buyers in his track were former owners that were foreclosed on in 2006 and 2007,” said Gary Crabtree, Affiliated Appraisers.

Although home construction was hit hard in last decade’s housing boom, significant growth was actually noted in the first quarter of the year. In April, two new communities were introduced to the Bakersfield area.
