Woman Found Hoarding 51 Cats

Woman Found Hoarding 51 CatsSeveral cats were retrieved form a woman’s one-bedroom apartment. The woman had been caring for a total of 51 cats including newborn kittens and a possibly pregnant adult feline in her Halifax, Nova Scotia residence.

After discovering the woman’s den, her landlord contacted the Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia. Their team of volunteers removed all but one cat from the woman’s home.

According to Catherine Stevens, a spokeswoman for the organization, all of the cats were being fed and the woman cooperated with the removal.

“She thought she was doing a great job (by caring for them), as most hoarders do”, Stevens said.

The woman will not be facing any charges. The cats are taken to a temporary shelter where they will be spayed and neutered before being put up for adoption.

I am so impressed with the job that Gregg and Karen did for my aunt's home. Not only did they take the time to explain thorougly what they were going to do, but they did EXACTLY as they promised.

We never expected to get the sales price for the house that we ended up getting. If you had seen my aunt's home before they started, you would know why. By the time the job was done, the house looked totally transformed.

Needless to say... I highly recommend their services!
