What to Do With Your Adult Children’s Old Belongings

While making quick decisions about their belongings comes easy to certain people, some may still encounter difficulties when it comes to dealing with things owned by their children before they moved out.

Mary Quigley wrote about her encounter with her son’s “Star Wars” collectibles. When she spoke to him about throwing out the said items, she was met with stunned silence, which mounted her quest to find the ultimate solution to this de-cluttering dilemma.
Quigley picked up  The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo, which she didn’t find too helpful as it had no chapter on adult children’s belongings. She also came across an article called “All Of My Belongings Fit in One Box: My Journey of Radical Decluttering.” It was written by Brianna Wiest, who introduced her to an activity which involves putting all the things she loves and really needs inside a box. Doing this will, ideally, help one decide and determine unwanted possessions which can be tossed.
Finally, she found some useful advice from Penelope Lemov, a writer from suburban Washington, D.C., which finally encouraged her to keep her son’s “Star Wars” collectibles.

I am so impressed with the job that Gregg and Karen did for my aunt's home. Not only did they take the time to explain thorougly what they were going to do, but they did EXACTLY as they promised.

We never expected to get the sales price for the house that we ended up getting. If you had seen my aunt's home before they started, you would know why. By the time the job was done, the house looked totally transformed.

Needless to say... I highly recommend their services!
