The Relationship Between Hoarding and Sleeping

According to researchers, all the stuff that hoarders keep in their room may prevent them from sleeping properly. An overstuffed bedroom can fill the mind with anxiety, and any existing risk of depression, stress and cognitive dysfunction may actually increase as sleep quality worsens.

Researchers also added the concept that anxiety may be a mediating factor between hoarding disorder and disordered sleep, and has been consistent with studies linking depression and hoarding to poor sleep.
