Psychiatric Association Bible About to Give New Definition to Hoarding Disorder

Hoarding Disorder, that condition that was made more prominent by the exposure it gained in reality TV, is about to be given a new clinical definition in order to make its treatment more possible and accessible.

The so-called “bible’ of psychiatric association is giving hoarding a new clinical definition, as experts are hopeful that this move will help in providing some much needed and sought after care and understanding to millions of Americans who are currently suffering from this particular disorder.

Hoarding disorder has long been believed to be a symptom of obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, in the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association, the two will be completely separated. This was according to NBC News.

According to the report – “Hoarding disorder” will be defined as “persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions, regardless of their actual value.”

And according to Randy Frost, a professor of psychology at Smith College studying hoarding issues, the new diagnosis will make people access to treatment easier.

I am so impressed with the job that Gregg and Karen did for my aunt's home. Not only did they take the time to explain thorougly what they were going to do, but they did EXACTLY as they promised.

We never expected to get the sales price for the house that we ended up getting. If you had seen my aunt's home before they started, you would know why. By the time the job was done, the house looked totally transformed.

Needless to say... I highly recommend their services!
