Hoarding a Threat to Fire-fighters

Hoarding a Threat to Fire-fightersLondon fire-fighters are worried. They aren’t worried about the rise in the number of residential fires, their worries are pointing to something else, more specifically to hoarders.

London Fire Department officials have voiced out their concerns that the practice of hoarding of some homeowners can pose a threat to the lives of fire-fighters while doing their duty.

According to an article that appeared on London.ctvnews.ca, “There are hundreds of hoarders in London and Insp. James Hind says “For the people who live like this, this is normal. This is their life. Everything that you see…holds some sort of meaning to them.”

That can include rotten food, clothing stacked feet high, dust, debris and more that make it difficult to navigate a residence.

On the city’s website the fire department describes hoarding as “a psychological disorder characterized by an inability to throw things away or the obsession with continuously acquiring things.”

The materials stored in those houses can soak the water from the fire-hoses and make the job of the fire-fighters a bit more difficult.

I am so impressed with the job that Gregg and Karen did for my aunt's home. Not only did they take the time to explain thorougly what they were going to do, but they did EXACTLY as they promised.

We never expected to get the sales price for the house that we ended up getting. If you had seen my aunt's home before they started, you would know why. By the time the job was done, the house looked totally transformed.

Needless to say... I highly recommend their services!
