Dealing with a Deceased Parent’s Hoardings

One of the most physically and emotionally troublesome tasks that an adult child has to do when a widowed parent passes away is dealing with the latter’s belongings and cleaning out his home. However, what could be even more challenging is discovering that he was a hoarder, and that his house is not only cluttered, but is ultimately impassable.

XOJane contributor Anna Carrasco Bowling writes about her experience years ago when she went through her deceased father’s accumulated possessions, including hundreds of bags of medical wastes.

I am so impressed with the job that Gregg and Karen did for my aunt's home. Not only did they take the time to explain thorougly what they were going to do, but they did EXACTLY as they promised.

We never expected to get the sales price for the house that we ended up getting. If you had seen my aunt's home before they started, you would know why. By the time the job was done, the house looked totally transformed.

Needless to say... I highly recommend their services!
